Two Nigeria Professional Football League Referees to Face Sanctions

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has summoned members of the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) to appear before a panel to explain their suspected act of misconduct in the week 1 opener of the ongoing 2019/2020 season.

The National Publicity Secretary of NRA, Kelechi Mejuobi disclosed that the affected referees have been directed to appear before NFF’s referees committee.

Mejuobi disclosed that those summoned to appear before the committee are one Prince Isiah from Ekiti state and Ahmed Rabiu from Kano state.

He said “they are to face the committee to explain their roles in the week 1 NPFL matches between Katsina United vs Eyimba and Heartland vs MFM.”

Mejuobi in a statement released earlier today (Friday) said “they are expected to arrive Abuja on December 1st and would appear before the referees committee on December 2 for questioning”.

The summons directed the affected football referees to on arrival to surrender themselves to the head of refereeing/secretary of the NFF on arrival in Abuja for further instructions.
