How Family Members Welcomed Dasuki in Abuja

The former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, (retired) has been reunited with the members of his family following his release from custody. He breathed freedom Tuesday night after four years in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS). Dasuki,who left the premises of the DSS at about 9.00pm, was warmly received by family members and well-wishers at his Asokoro residence at about 9.30pm, according to PRNigeria. His release has been well received across Nigeria and beyond where many have described it as a welcomed development. The former NSA, it could be recalled, was first arrested on December 1, 2015 by DSS and arraigned in Court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). After perfecting his bail granted by the court, he was released on December 29, 2015 but was immediately re-arrested by the Operatives of DSS. He remained in custody despite series of court orders granting him bail. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, (SAN), in surprised move , Tuesday, ordered the DSS to comply with the court order granting bail to Dasuki and the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore
