After years of requesting and lobbying, the court of appeal has finally officially approved the creation of a division in Kano.
State attorney-general and commissioner of justice, Ibrahim Mukhtar, said on Monday that it was a welcome development that would make access to justice easily attainable.
He also said the division, when completed, would ease the processes of appeal for lawyers in Kano and neighboring states.
Kano had made a request for a court of appeal division about four years ago, arguing that lawyers from the state file most of the cases at the Kaduna division, making it a suitable place to situate another division that will serve the interest of the huge population which the state command.
Judicialsketch.com has gathered that works at the site of the court will commence in the first quarter of 2020,
