Five NPFL Referees Face Sanctions

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has summoned five referees, who officiate matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), to appear before a panel to respond to allegations over their misconducts during the officiating of matches.

According to the National Publicity Secretary, Nigeria Referees Association, NRA,  Kelechi Mejuobi  in a missive released on Thursday, the affected referees have been directed to appear before NFF’s Referees Committee.

In his words “I have been directed that the following referees have been invited to face the NFF Referees Committee.

“Warri vs Lobi, referee and assistant referee invited.

“Match 91: Kano Pillars vs Ifeanyi Uba, referee only invited.

“Match 93 Plateau vs Warri, Wolves referee only invited.

He further that “match 96, Lobi Star vs Katsina United, referee alone invited.”

Mejuobi stated that the referees whose conducts during the mentioned NPFL matches are being queried are billed to appear before the committee on January 8, 2020.

“The invited referees are expected to Kano to face the Committee.” Mejuobi concluded.
