A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sentenced a 36 year old man,  Abdulkareem Yahaya Danmallam to a10 year jail term for defiling a  nine year old  primary school pupil.

According to the charge sheet with ref number FHC/KN/CR/01/2018, the incident occurred at Gidan Dagaci quarters located in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, North West Nigeria.

The prosecutor, Barrister Abdullahi Babale had told the court that that convict lured the victim while she was on her way to school.

He said the victim was offered the sum N10 to buy her over following which the suspect proceeded to defile her.

The prosecutor affirmed that the suspect violated the provision of Section 16(1) of the Trafficking in Persons Act, 2015.

Three witnesses were produced by the prosecutor, while two documents, one the confessional statement made by the suspect and the other a medical report obtained from the Muritala Muhammad Specialists Hospital, Kano, were tendered before court.
