Contractors under the aegis of Kano Contractors Association have urged members to indulge the services of legal practitioners in all their business engagements.
The chairman of the association, Auduwa Maitangaran in a chat with journalists at the Kano NUJ press centre lamented that contractors have continued to suffer avoidable loses owing to their refusal to engage legal practitioners in their business agreements.
According to him contractors ought to protect their wealth through the usage of the instruments of law. He said “contractors need to make sure lawyers are part of the drafting of their business agreements.
“Our contractors have to take seriously the issue of obtaining the power of attorney for their business dealings, Maitangaran stated.
He further appealed to businessmen to be abreast with the changing status of the various laws, explaining that this would help protect their business interests.
