Justice Tanko’s Panel Adjourns Hearing on Imo Judgement Review

CJN, PDP wants CJN recused, PDP askes for new panel, Emeka Ihedioha, Imo State

A seven-man panel of the Nigeria’s Supreme Court, led by the Chief Justice, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad on Tuesday adjourned to March 2 the hearing on the application filed by the sacked governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha.

Ihedioha is challenging the judgement of the apex court that sacked him as the governor of the state.

The full panel consisted of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, Justices Sylvester Ngwuta, Kayode Ariwoola, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Inyang Okoro, Amina Augie, and Uwani Abba-Aji.

Ihedioha’s political party (PDP) had wanted the CJN to recuse himself alongside other justices of the Supreme Court that delivered the initial judgement of January 14, but this was not to be as today’s panel consisted of the same persons.
