A Kano High Court sitting at Audu Bako secretariat on Wednesday set free one   Mamuda Idris who was first docked before the court in 2017.

The court headed by Justice A. T. Badamasi held that the prosecution team led by Ghazali Maigari Bichi failed to prove the allegation of rape against Mamuda.

The prosecution in suit no K/156c/2017 alleged that the freed man, a resident of  Doguwa local government, sometimes in 2017 had lured a 10-year old Khadija Musa into a room, further alleging that Mamuda  forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

Justice Badamasi in his judgment said “ from what has been adduced before the court orally and documentarilly, I hold that the prosecution has not proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

“Consequently the defendant is hereby discharged and acquitted,” Justice Gbadamasi stated.
