The 2019 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf has hailed the peaceful conduct of the party’s ward congress in the state.
Yusuf also applauded the efforts of the party’s leadership in conducting the exercise in the 484 political wards in the state.
He spoke to the media shortly after the ward congress election in Diso-Chiranchi ward of Gwale Local Government Area.
He also said that despite the “daylight robbery” of the party’s mandate in the 2019 elections, members of the party had kept their hopes alive by coming out to discharge their civic responsibility
“I am impressed by the turnout of our party members who are deeply committed to seeing one united PDP and whose interest in the development of our state remained unshakable.
“I congratulate those who won this election and console those who did not scale through with assurance that everybody is going to be carried along, until our effort to salvage the state from the present tyranny by the so-called State government”
He called on the national and state leadership of the party to sustain the tempo, especially during the forthcoming local and state congresses.
He urged the party’s supporters in the state and beyond to continue to pray for justice over the “injustices” meted on them by the power that be during the last election.
