Nigerian Farmers Urged to Return to Farmlands to Ensure Food Security after COVID-19

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Friday ordered Nigerian farmers to return to till the lands to ensure food security.

The task-force, headed by secretary to government of the federation, Boss Mustapha , during its daily media parley monitored from Kano said the farming session is fast approaching, and that there is the need for farmers to be encouraged to return to their farmlands.

He explained the essence of food during and post pandemic era. The task-force said it would collaborate with the state government to address the challenges associated with the pandemic.

According to Mustapha, measures are taken to stabilize the country, admitting that the pandemic has threatened global economy and noting that Nigeria is not an exception.

He said arrangements have been put in place to enable students to continue their studies online through the website of the ministry of education.
