Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, representing Kano Central, and the leader House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, will seek to meet President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss issues related to the continuous rise in the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kano State.
The two lawmakers met with the minister of health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, and the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Monday where they discussed the challenges facing Kano State at the moment.
Shekarau’s media aide, Sule Ya’u Sule said in statement on Monday that the senator, being a member of the senate committee on health was briefed by the minister on efforts put in place to address the Kano challenge.
“The minister briefed members on the arrangement so far made to arrest the situation in Kano, noting that already health experts from Lagos and Abuja have been drafted to Kano to support the team on the ground”, Sule said in the statement.
According to the statement, it was resolved to present the situation report to the leadership of the National Assembly on Tuesday, after which the lawmakers will seek to table the matter before President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
