Nigerian Footballers Kick against Salary Slash

Nigerian Footballers, Kick, Salary Slash

The association of Nigeria professional footballers (NANPF) has described the slash of players’ salaries owing to the COVID- 19 as illegal.

The umbrella body of footballers plying their trade in Nigeria in a letter written to the chairman, Yobe Stars FC, signed by the secretary general of the association, Austin Popo, said the cut in players’ wages was a disrespect of players’ contractual terms.

The group alleged that the decision to cut wages and technical crew by the management of Yobe Deserts FC is an arm twisting tactics, and urged the management of the club to revert its decision, calling on football club operators to adhere to the contractual agreements signed by players on their payroll.
