The United Nations has expressed worries over the vulnerability of Nigerian journalists to contracting the dreaded COVID-19 virus.
The global body said journalists on the frontline are been infested with the virus, calling for improved health measures from employers to secure their lives.
The UN cautioned that failure to secure reporters would lead to the churning out of sub standard media reportage.
The UN, in a release issued from its official Twitter handle said “many journalists across the world including Nigeria have been reported infected with COVID-19 in the line of duty. If we want journalism without fear or favour, media employers and entrepreneurs must be assuring in their duty of care to their reporters.”
