Teenage Armed Robbery Gang, Native Doctor, Arrested in Enugu

An armed robbery gang that has terrorised residents of Opi town in Nsukka local government area of Enugu State has been busted by the police, leading to the arrest of some teenagers and a native doctor who specializes in making charms for them.

Spokesman to Enugu State police command, Mr Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Saturday that the said the native doctor, identified as Cyril Eneh was arrested after the gang fingered his as their spiritual  backbone who armed them with the  charms they use for their operations.

Ndukwe said the gang which was made up of teenagers, Ezeugwu Osita (16), Abonyi Chigozie (16), Ugwuanyi Stanley (16), and Isiani Ogechukwu (17) and was busted after they had successfully robbed a house at Ibeku, Opi in Nsukka.

He said 11 other suspects were arrested for crimes including murder, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, fraud and cultism.
