The management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has ordered the compulsory use of face mask in the institution’s premises.
According to a general circular issued and signed by the secretary, information and publication department of the university, Lamara Garba, the order starts with immediate effect.
He noted that security operatives have been authorized to enforce the order, and stated that there was no exemption in compliance, adding that students, staff and visitors are mandated to comply with the regulation.
He disclosed that the decision was reached by the management of the ivory tower with the intention to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lamara said the compulsory use of face mask inside the university is in adherence to medical advice, and urged students, staff and visitors to comply with the rules of social distancing and usage of hand sanitizer as preventive measures.
