The minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare, has disclosed that the ministry requires N10 billion special intervention funds to fix sports assets in Nigeria.
The minister in a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday added that plans have been concluded to commence the renovation of Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.
According to him, the ministry is soliciting for the funds from Federal government to help upgrade and renovate sports facilities across Nigeria.
He stated that the National stadium in Lagos would be put on concessions, stressing that plans are underway to execute the concession of the stadium.
He revealed that the ministry is at the final stage of an agreement to renovate the MKO Stadium, while disclosing that Dangote would soon be mobilized to the stadium for renovation works to kick off at the facility.
