KANO NBA ELECTION: Gadanya Emerges Chairman

Monday’s election into the executive positions of the Kano branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) ended rancor-free and Aminu Sani Gadanya has emerged chairman of the branch.

Gadanya got 214 votes as against Ibrahim Garba Waru who scored 137 votes while Usman Umar Fari got 33.

Chairman of the branch’s electoral committee, Tajuddeen A. O. Funsho told newsmen after the votes had been counted that Abbas Haladu, Haruna Saleh Zakariyyah vice chairman; Haruna Saleh Zakariyya and Zahraddeen HamIsu Ibrahim were returned as vice chairman, secretary and welfare secretary respectively without opposition.

Meanwhile, Mukhtar Shehu Bello defeated Moses Femi Falana by 275  to 81 votes  to emerge as assistant secretary; while Ismail Abdulazeez garnered 270 votes against Ladi Oseni Ojonugwa to emerge  as treasurer.  Sa’adatu Mahmoud Ibrahim  emerged as financial secretary unopposed.

Others, according to him, were Aminu Abdullahi as publicity secretary; Asmau Muhammad Sulaiman as welfare secretary; Ibrahim Abdullahu as legal adviser; Nafiu Maikudi as provosts and Abdul Adamu Fagge as NEC representative.
