The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Dutse branch has disclosed that rape victims in its jurisdiction would receive pro bono legal services to pursue the enforcement of their rights.
The chairman of the branch, Garba Abubakar, speaking during the inauguration of the newly elected exco of the branch held on Monday stated that the newly installed exco would also extend free legal services to indigent persons.
Garba added that aged persons in dire need of legal assistance would benefit from the free legal packages been unveiled by the branch.
The chairman in his inauguration remarks commended his predecessor, Bashir Usaini for fostering unity among members of the branch, though he cautioned that the new leadership of the branch would not accommodate any form of external interference and interloping into its affairs.
Garba further said that the branch would resist any attempt to bring disharmony and dissension among members, noting that his exco is extending the olive branch to those who felt offended by the activities of the branch.
He assured that the branch exco would pursue mentorship of young professionals and promotion of mandatory continuing education.
