Journalists on Saturday tasked Kano Pillars football club to commence preparations in earnest with the motive to surpass their past records in African club side football competitions.
The members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kano state council in a communiqués issued at the end of its congress on Saturday congratulated the people of Kano State for the continental ticket given to the club to represent Nigeria at the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup.
The union pointed out that the club’s poor outing at the last 2019/2020 edition of the continental campaign was as a result of weak preparations.
Kano NUJ therefore appealed to Kano state government not to hesitate to release funds to the management of the club for the team to start early preparations to acquire the tactics and all other requisite tricks that would empower the team.
The urged the team to proceed to the continent to put up a super soccer show that would invoke smiles and equally make Nigeria people proud.
